After a single semester at the University, Contractor went to an open call audition for the show Pericles at the world-class, world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the role of lead. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance during 92 performances of the play. Contractor accepted the offer to join Stratford's Conservatory. There are only eight males and four females are admitted to a course of 20 weeks in classical theater. Contractor's spot was assured for the following series of plays, and she landed Hermia's character as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
